Hello again. Your friendly neighborhood purveyor of sadrock has returned with more misery for ye.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/pkz0uz

Typical Snaxosetup. Strat –> AC30, J-Bass DIed with a modeled Big Muff and Ampex SVX. Fulltone OCD, Eventide Timefactor, EHX Cathedral. Drums are SD2 and Ultrabeat.

Also, one of the tubes in my AC30 is going microphonic apparently. yell Troubleshooting time.

Oh, and the mic/speaker is Shure KSM27 LDC/Celestion Alnico Blue. No EQ on the guitars or clean bass. And the intro is some sort of gated distortothing, I forget what I threw on there.

There will be more to this. This is merely what I did last night. Yes, I know the G string is out of tune. I'll fix this on a better version. No vocals (though I have lyrics) or synth yet.

Neato. The geetar is a bit muddy or dark for my tastes, but everything else about this is perty fucking slick.

It almost strikes me in bits of At The Drive-In, a striking which i am fairly into. thumbs-up

Dark guitar tone, indeed.

I really dig it, though.

The little digital glitches are really neat.

I need a goddamn AC30.

If some one puts vocals to it, you should double up the part that starts at 14 seconds and have vocals start up on the second time around

The tone certainly is different. Tubby, low midz. I don't mean that in a bad way. It's a cool track. wave

The double-time single-note line with the fuzzed-out bass? That works.

I'm planning on vocalating on this once I'm done with the lyrics. That seems as good a place as any to come in, use the slower chord thing as the intro. That would even work with what I have lyrically right now. The clean bit is either a chorus or pre-chorus.

Part of it's probably the mic placement- it's a fair bit off-axis and literally right up on the grill; I have it hanging with the cable threaded through one of the handles. And part of it's probably just how I'm playing the stuff- a lot of it's higher up on the neck on the lower strings. The single note riff is played mostly on the E up near the 12th fret, and that was a conscious tone choice on my part.

I really like this. Love the bit where the bass goes fuzzy. I just wish the dirty was a bit fuzzier and nastier. The clean toanez are to die for love Oh and I like the glitchy sounding drums in the clean bits, what'd you do that with?

Look forward to hearing the finished article.
