Fairst. Who repaired it, and wat did they fix?
Sacond, does it have a three prong plug, or is it a two-zer?
Thaird, does it have two transformers?
Farth, kenna you take some gutshots of it? Answer the other three before you do though!

12th Fret Music… sort of a boutique vintage store in Toronto. I don't recall what they did, but one thing they did do is replace the cord with a grounded one.
I don't recall the number of transformers… but we will see when I get them gutsywutsy shots…

As a tube amp, be aware that it can retain highish voltages in its filter capacitors even once unplugged.
Really this just means, be careful not to stick your hand all up in the chassis when you have it open, unless you know what you are looking at and how to check and discharge the filter caps.

Oh yes. I am deathly fearful of the voltages. I will use my eyes and not my fingers…

HOKAY.
So here are photos:
The last one seems awkward but I did it this way so you could see the back, with the parts still oriented the same way. I don't see any visible issues? Filter cap indeed?
And here is the repair report from before: "Rewired power supply / New power cable / New coupling capacitor / Cleaned pins + pots / Tubes OK"
And here is what I ended up using instead. I thought they looked cute together, so I took a photo of this also.

Yar, there are definitely a couple of things i would want to take a close look at there if i had the thing in front of me. At the very least, that cardboardy looking orangish capacitor is probably ready to go somewhere else.
I would probably wish to replace the little blue ones too. They all look like they have been around long enough to be prime hum suspects.
Of course, the cap can itself should not be above suspicion either.

There could be worse maps to troubleshoot, at least.

Yow. Building something that in the first place seems like an awful lot of trouble to go through. Particularly considering that i have never heard one of those that i felt was anymore than halfway decent sounding.
Blarg.
The one thing that amazed me at first about building my own amps, was just how simple an amp can be to sound good. How little it takes. Engl is like the antithesis of that.
Again, blarg.

Agrees, Snaxie does:
The Diezel that's normally to my left (right from my persepective) does sound like a fist though, gotta admit. For how much the sharting thing costs, though, it had better!
