Super Tight Deathcore

For those of you into that Deathcore/Djent stuff, here are some tips for getting that really tight, hi-gain sound that bands such as Periphery, Born of Osiris, After The Burial, and others use.

I’m using a Marshall MG100 Series Head with a matching full cab. I’m also using a Line 6 Uber Metal Pedal. Settings are like this:

Amp:

Gain- 8 Bass- 7 Mid- 10 Treble- 5

Also note, I’m using a Noise Suppressor which also gives it a tighter sound and gets rid of all of that excess noise.

So try it out for yourselves and tweak it out and see what works for you.

Pedal:

Level – 6
Scoop – 7
Drive – 5
Bass – 3
Mid – 10
Treble – 5

    But is the Line6 set to METAL, INSANE, or PULVERIZE??

    Great question; my pedal is set to pulverize.

    are you using the marshall OD Chanel or simply the clean?

    Misha of Periphery actually states that he uses very little gain to achieve this sound. High mids, roll off the treble and bass, and low gain. Plus noise gate and compressor.

    @Djentist 101 I’m using the clean channel.

    @Caligulate Yes he does say that and you have to keep in mind that Misha uses a lot of equipment to get his sound. All I’m using is a Marshall cab and a line 6 pedal.
